TCIP is an extensible and modular standard allowing for data exchange between transit business systems, subsystems, components, and devices. It covers C2C, agency-to-public, agency-to-infrastructure, and system-to-system communications. The benefits extend beyond vehicles, operations, and passenger information to business systems and subsystems noted above.   • Customer Service (CSS) – e.g., complaint investigation
  • Data Repository (DR) – e.g., storage of schedule data
  • Fare System (FS) – e.g., fare type reporting
  • Operator Assignment System (OAS) – e.g., manage pull-out/pull-in
  • Geographical Information System (GIS) – e.g., ridership history by location
  • Asset Management System (AM) – e.g., forecast and plan scheduled maintenance
  • Parking Management (PRK) – e.g., parking garage management system
  • Payroll (PAY) – e.g., payroll calculations
  • Scheduling (SCH) – e.g., blocking and runcutting
